Teaching the Bible to win the lost and to strengthen believers is a central task of Sunday School. Because we are life-long learners, teachers are learners among learners. Our role is to facilitate the teaching/learning process. This makes us leaders of learning. As a leader of learning, teachers are responsible for creating an appropriate teaching/learning environment. The teaching/learning environment encompasses the physical setting, the intellectual/emotional climate, and the spiritual atmosphere.

 

Teaching then is creating an experience in which a person changes in some lasting  way his or her knowledge, understanding, skill, attitudes or values. Teaching involves an exchange of ideas, information, experiences which lead to change. Teaching utilizes environment and equipment to facilitate the experience of the learner.
